Progeny
The primal axiom rings true
From forest to fields it has imbrued
With the blood of countless prey once caught:
Mother Nature nurtures not.
Much as the heart, the mind’s akin
Unto the beast that lives within.
For compassion must be taught;
Mother Nature nurtures not.
The sounding noises monkeys made
Became the human cannonade
In wars and wars and wars we’ve fought;
Mother Nature nurtures not.
Ignorance is a bruising bliss.
(Which is the point of writing this.)
It’s four times said, but oft forgot:
Mother Nature nurtures not.
